The Onslow County, North Carolina-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation is governed by a City of Jacksonville and Onslow County appointed board of directors. The JOSC partners with Onslow County Tourism, City of Jacksonville and Onslow County Governments, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Station New River, City of Jacksonville Recreation and Parks, Onslow County Parks and Recreation, Onslow County School System, along with many other organizations in order to attract, support, and produce quality sporting events and activities primarily to promote in-bound sports travel to the area. The JOSC owns and operates multiple events that have a direct impact on sports tourism for Onslow County.
Venue Spotlight
Jacksonville Commons Recreation Complex – is the largest green space of all the parks and recreation areas within city limits. The Recreation Admin building is at the center of the Complex in the main commons building, Gymnasium and Adult Center located at 100 Recreation Lane. Known around the City at “The Commons,” this area is home to award winning ball fields, tennis courts, soccer fields, playground, amphitheater, Richard Ray All America Park, Gardens of the States, and meditation labyrinth.
