Become A Member

The North Carolina Sports Association is a member-based organization. Our members include Convention & Visitors Bureaus (CVBs or DMOs), Sports Commissions, Venues/Facilities, Parks & Recreation Departments, Students, Industry Professionals, and Industry Suppliers. We have over 50 members at this time and hope to grow that number as Sports Tourism continues to grow and make a large impact on North Carolina destinations. Membership Benefits

  • Three membership meetings per year, including the Annual NC Rightsholder Trade Show & Legislative Reception
  • Educational offerings at each general membership meeting
  • Access to discounted registration for designated trade shows, such as: the TEAMS Annual Conference produced by Northstar & Connect Sports Marketplace
  • Enhanced visibility on the NCSA website, Play Easy, and Social Media
  • Lead/RFP sharing: Event RFPs received by NCSA are distributed to member organizations

Venues & Facilities

A Facility or Venue Member is an organization that owns, operates, or manages a physical location designed to host sporting events, tournaments, competitions, practices, or related sports activities. Facilities may include:

  • Indoor sports complexes

  • Outdoor fields and stadiums

  • Multi-sport venues

  • Aquatics centers

  • Track & field complexes

  • Ice rinks

  • Tennis or pickleball centers

  • Arenas and coliseums

  • University or college athletic facilities

Rate: $1,100 per year – includes one representative

Additional members may be added for $275 each per year

DMO, CVB & Sports Commission

A DMO or CVB Member is a destination-based organization responsible for marketing and promoting a city, county, or region as a travel and event destination.

A Sports Commission Member is an organization specifically focused on attracting, hosting, and supporting sporting events within a designated region or community.

Rate: $1,375 per year – includes two representatives

Additional representatives may be added for $275 each per year

Parks & Recreation Departments

A Parks & Recreation Member is a municipal or county-operated department responsible for managing public parks, athletic facilities, recreational programs, and community sports programming.

Rate: $550 per year – includes one representative

Additional members may be added for $275 each per year.

Student

A Student Member is an individual currently enrolled in a college or university who is pursuing a degree or career interest in sports management, sports tourism, event management, hospitality, parks & recreation, or a related field.

  • Internship & Volunteer Opportunities

Rate: $50 per year – includes one representative

Professional

A Professional Member is an individual actively working in — or previously affiliated with — the sports, tourism, hospitality, parks & recreation, or event management industries who is not representing an eligible member organization.

  • Access & Conversations with state-wide industry leaders
  • Early notification of new job opportunities in sports tourism industry
  • Volunteer Opportunities

Rate: $250 includes one representative per year

Industry Supplier

An Industry Supplier Member is a company that provides goods, services, technology, equipment, or professional expertise that support the sports tourism industry.

  • Industry Supplier Membership is designed for companies that support and strengthen the execution of sports events across North Carolina.

  • Direct contact with the state DMOs and State Sport Governing bodies
  • Sponsorship opportunities are available for product, program, or platform demonstrations and sales.

Rate: $1,250 per year – includes two representatives

Additional members may be added for $275 each per year.
